Norwalk: Things To Do, Where To Eat

We absolutely love our new town and can't wait to welcome you to Norwalk! Plenty to do, eat, and drink around East Norwalk, South Norwalk, and Westport. The below should provide you with a comprehensive start, but feel free to text/call if you need any nearby suggestions and we'll be glad to point you in the right direction. (Location list is sorted by restaurants/food first, then bars/drinks, then activities/things to do.)

The Spread South Norwalk

127 Washington Street, Norwalk, CT 06854

Quality brunch/dinner American fare staple right off of Washington St in SoNo. Shared plates are fantastic for a group dinner! Highly recommend.

Sono Seaport Seafood Inc.

100 Water Street, Norwalk, CT 06854

One of our very favorite date night spots. Highly recommend ordering a drink and round of oysters to enjoy waterside while waiting for your table. Casual picnic tables, killer fish tacos, and beautiful views.

El Segundo

3 North Water Street, Norwalk, CT 06854

Across the courtyard from The Spread (its sister restaurant) this casual dining spot offers delicious “cross cultural cuisine.”

Donovan's

138 Washington Street, Norwalk, CT 06854

Est. in 1889, this is an old-school hangout for a drink or casual bite to eat in the heart of SoNo. Award winning clam chowder here too.

The Galley

50a Calf Pasture Beach Road, Norwalk, CT 06855

BY FAR our favorite local spot. Incredible breakfast/lunch sandwiches and unbeatable ambiance on the water with live music. Laid back and good fun - our kind of place! (Would recommend calling to ensure they're open before you head over - they take a midday break to switch from breakfast to lunch menus)

Harbor Harvest

7 Cove Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06855

Great grab & go breakfast (think egg sandwiches, smoothies, coffee...). There's a quiet outdoor seating area in the back too. Spencer's favorite breakfast there is "The Shipwreck" on a wrap.

Ucbc bagels

19 1st Street, Norwalk, CT 06855

A new bagel spot within walking distance from our home?! Danielle's dream! We may or may not have attended opening day...

BJ Ryan’s EAST

1 Cove Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06855

One of the first restaurants we fell in love with in town. Great outdoor seating and often live music on the patio. The First & Cove Cobb is excellent - swap the grilled chicken for chicken cutlet and thank us later!

Harbor Lights

82 Seaview Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06855

Upscale waterside dining, serene spot to watch boats come in.

Magic 5 Pie Co.

230 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06855

Looking for some 'za to take on your train ride back to NYC? Look no further than a 1 minute walk from the East Norwalk train station. We love "Native Son" and "Magic Five." (Pro tip: Ask for the meatballs - they're not on the menu, but they're great!)

Greer Southern Table

7 River Street, Norwalk, CT 06850

Great spot for cocktails, upscale southern fare, and weekend brunch. Shrimp & grits are terrific.

Mykonos Kouzina

141 Main Street, Norwalk, CT 06851

Greek cuisine, on the way from The Watershed to venues. The “Mykonos Grill” is a ton of food, great for sharing!

Mr. Frosty's Ice Cream Shop

6 1st Street, Norwalk, CT 06855

The best ice cream around, and it's within (tempting) walking distance from our home! Spencer's favorite is a classic soft serve twist, Danielle goes for the "The Magic Potion" specialty shake.

314 Beer Garden and Wood-Fired Pizza

314 Wilson Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854

A bit "off the beaten path," but incredible venue to have a few drinks, listen to live music, watch a game, and stay warm by a fire pit.

Calf Pasture Beach

Calf Pasture Beach Road, Norwalk, CT 06851

Where we got engaged! It's our go-to spot for beach walk, paddle boarding, and sunset picnic dinners.

Sheffield Island Lighthouse

Norwalk, CT 06854

If you have a few hours free and are looking to know more about Norwalk, there is a sightseeing/historical tour of the outer Norwalk Harbor and Norwalk’s three historic lighthouses, including Sheffield Island Lighthouse.

The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk

10 North Water Street, Norwalk, CT 06854

Say hello to seals at the Maritime Aquarium! This is a long time Norwalk staple, and where Danielle's older sister Chelsea had her "ChelSea World" themed batmitzvah.
