As most people know, Collin and I met back in summer of 2011. We both worked at Hershey Park in the Sanitation department. We did not know we were going to work together that day until he walked into the supply closet at the Boardwalk bathroom which connects the Men's bathroom to the Women's bathroom. It was a rainy day so the Boardwalk was not busy and we began talking and joking around. Instant friends. Then 3 months later we started dating. After 3 months of dating I broke up with him realizing that maybe I just wasn't ready yet. Almost a year later we started hanging out as friends again and that friendship turned back into a relationship and we have been together ever since.
Because Collin still works for Hershey he had complimentary tickets for Hershey's Christmas Candy Lane. We love to go and see the lights, drink hot chocolate and see some former coworkers, so when he asked me to go on November 22nd it didn't strike me as odd. I had also been having a stressful time at school so I thought he just wanted to take me out and get my mind off things. We got there and immediately got Hot chocolate (it was pretty chilly) and while waiting in line I told him jokingly "It's a good thing you aren't proposing tonight." and he said "oh yeah? why is that?" to which I said "my hair is a mess, and I don't look cute enough to get engaged!" Well that certainly didn't stop him. We walked around for a while when he asked if I wanted to go on the Kissing Tower. This did not seem strange to me because the only few rides I ride at Hershey Park (and most amusement parks) is the Kissing Tower, the Ferris Wheel, and the Merry-go-round. So we get on the Kissing Tower and there were 2 other couples on the ride with us. He made sure that there was space between them and us (again, not strange because Collin isn't comfortable around other people) and when we got to the top I asked Collin why he was scooting away from me to which he said "so that I can do this while we are up here." and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I stared at him for a moment not realizing what was happening and not believing that it was really happening. Then I snapped out of it and said yes! Then I had the bright idea of getting married in just 7 months.. lol
