How We Met ♡

Blind Date Success Story

At the start of last November, Danielle’s coworker and friend, Kate, mentioned that her husband had a christian coworker, Chris, who was an eligible bachelor. At the time, Danielle was not looking to date anyone, but as Kate described Chris, she listed all the qualities Danielle desired in a life partner, that he is kind, social, active, and loves God. Danielle knew she had to meet him. Meanwhile, Kate’s husband, Walter, was on the golf course with Chris on a Saturday morning. Walter asked Chris how his love life was going and if he was open to dating. Chris responded that he was not looking to date anyone right now. Walter said that his wife had a coworker who they wanted to set Chris up with. Walter mentioned that Danielle was very kind and strong in her faith. He showed Chris a photo of Danielle and the first words out of Chris’ mouth were, “Are you serious?” The eagerness to meet Danielle ramped up quickly. Kate and Walt had worked their match making magic. Chris reached out to Danielle and set up the first date at a coffee shop near Jax beach called, SAGO. They lit up immediately when they first met and the simple coffee date went so well that it lasted for three hours. They knew this was the start of something special and were eager to set up another date. Immediately following the first date, Chris texted his friend Preston and said, “I just finished up a date with my future wife”. You could say he was confident from the start.

The Proposal

After asking Danielle’s father for his blessing during a stormy round of golf, Chris set out to planning the proposal. His plan was to get Danielle’s roommate, Marissa, to ask her to do a roommate photo shoot at the beach on June 30th in order to get Danielle to the beach in a dress without suspicion. However, when Marissa asked, Danielle requested that they wait to do the photo shoot until after July 4th, since she and Chris were heading to Orlando the evening of June 30th. Chris resorted to plan B, which was having his friend Charlie text him about a so-called ‘sunrise worship service’ that his church was hosting on the beach. Charlie said that his church would be filming a promo video as a part of the service and asked Chris if he and Danielle would like to join. Chris sent this text to Danielle and she eagerly agreed to take part. Chris arrived at the beach around 6am along with two friends, Lexi and Gresham, and the photographer, Kacy. They all set up the scene and wished Chris luck as he met Danielle out at the parking lot. Chris brought her to the set up and popped the question. She said yes! Kacy took photos of them for the next 30 minutes before Chris and Danielle went out for breakfast. Later that day they went to Dinner at Mezzaluna and followed it up with a surprise engagement party with their friends at Lexi and Gresham’s house. It was a perfect day and they were both so happy with how everything turned out.
