Brian and Danielle met on the first day of their Biomechanics class at Cal State Long Beach in the fall of 2012. They were both studying Kinesiology and became close friends throughout the semester. By January 2013 (with a little convincing from her best friend Erin), they went on their first date and have since then become inseparable. Over the last eight years, they have accomplished a lot in their careers; Brian becoming a Deputy Sheriff for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Dani receiving her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. They have also had incredible adventures along the way, their favorites including hiking the Narrows in Zion National Park, zip-lining through the rainforest in Costa Rica, exploring Japan by bullet train, and driving the winding country roads of Ireland. Whether it be as tennis partners or world travelers, the last eight years have been an adventure that only continues to bring them closer together.
Brian and Danielle spent the last two weeks of May 2019 in scenic Japan. They watched Sumo in Tokyo, fed deer in Nara, traversed the Alps of Takayama and drove Go-Karts through the streets of Kyoto, While driving around Mt. Fuji near the end of the trip, Brian and Danielle stopped for a short walk to Shiraito Falls. Despite some technical difficulties and language barriers, the proposal was made. Danielle said, "Yes!" before he could even get the words out. It was an unforgettable vacation and they can’t wait to begin the next chapter of life together.
