Danielle and Brian were introduced by a mutual friend who is not only a groomsman, but also the best neighbor on their street - Chris Marotta! As good friends from growing up together, Danielle and Chris stayed in touch throughout college until one day Chris had the great idea to invite Danielle over to one of Brian's parties at his townhouse. It was that day that Danielle realized she couldn't only resist Brians good looks, but his grilling skills were A1 too!
The go to first date spot at the time was a new local brewery in downtown Albany. A popular spot, D & B arrived and were excited for the first date. Busy as always, there was a 15 minute wait, so Brian gave his number to the host so that they can text him when the table was ready. D & B sat down, started talking, and watched as other parties behind them checked in. They continued to wait, and wait, and wait until Danielle was questioning why all the other parties behind them kept getting seated before them. She questioned Brian to see if he received the text, and he said no. Finally the last group got seated and Danielle about had it. Danielle got up and went to the host stand and asked when our table would be ready. The host simply replied, your table has been ready for 45 minutes, we sent a text to Brian. Brian, being the true gentleman that he is, put his phone on do not disturb so he was not distracted while talking. Needless to say, he received the text, just didn't know about it. Despite being a tad hangry, D & B were finally seated and had a good laugh about it. Good things come to those that wait!
September 20, 2024 - LAKE GEORGE, NY For the last 5+ years Danielle has been listening to Brian's GREAT IDEAs. One in particular was his decision that he should buy a boat. This has been a reoccurring topic that Danielle was tired of hearing, especially because she was hoping his next big purchase would be her ring. Little did she know, the boat was all part of a bigger plan! In July, the "opportunity of a lifetime" arose and Brian purchased his boat. Though it was not her ring, Danielle was still really excited for the big news and all of the lake days that were to come. Naturally, D & B love to entertain, so having the boat was another great way they are able to enjoy spending time with friends and family. D & B found themselves spending as much time as they could on the boat. This even meant sneaking out of work early from time to time when the weather was perfect so they could get an early start to the weekend. From early wake up calls to catch the sunrise, tying up and floating all day, staying out late for sunset rides, and getting Martha's ice cream on the way home, nothing could be better. This is when Brian knew he wanted to propose on the boat. Fast forward to September, Brian secretly purchased the ring and successfully hid it from Danielle which was extremely difficult because D knows everything! D & B were getting ready for a vacation that was planned and Brian decided he wanted to go on a boat ride the day before they left. At first, D did not want to go as we still had to pack, but with some convincing, she finally agreed to head to the lake. The conditions were perfect - sunny without a cloud in the sky, 75 degrees, and the lake was very calm. They went for a boat ride and then stopped to watch the sunset and have a glass of wine. As the sun was setting, Brian pulled out the ring box and asked the question, in which she replied, YES!
