What will the weather be like?

Answer

Cartagena is a relatively warm city - with temperatures usually around 85 - 90, so make sure you bring comfortable clothes and lots of sun screen, especially if you plan to do a lot of walking around the old city or explore the surrounding islands! Make sure to also bring a bathing suit, as many of the hotels have amazing pools

What is the best way to travel around Cartagena?

Answer

Uber works great - it's easy to use and very affordable. One piece of advice is that its tricky for cars to get into the Old City, so to make it easier for you, it might be worth placing the pick-up and drop-off locations on one of the roads outside of the old city.

What is the currency and do I need cash?

Answer

Colombia uses the Colombian Peso (COP), but you can also use USD in card form. $1 USD = about 4000 COP. If you are going to take any taxis (instead of Uber) or if you want to buy things from street vendors, then you will need cash in pesos, otherwise, most restaurants and bars will accept credit / debit cards. We suggest getting around $100 worth of cash in the local currency. If you want to take cash, you can get it at the airport or look for Bancolombia banks / ATM's as these would likely have the best exchange rates.
