We met on the Meetme app while Dan was in Cleveland for college. He was looking for a friend who knew the city and could show him around all the fun sights before he graduated. After both being stubborn to how we felt about each other Dan made the first move (despite claiming Sarah made the first move) and the rest is history. Now after 6 amazing years, 310 miles apart (while Sarah was finishing college), and many more hardships fought together, we are finally tying the knot!
For our Anniversary, I had planned to take Sarah to the Frederick Meijer Gardens because she had mentioned she would love to go and see the Sculptures and artwork (she is very artsy). Knowing our Anniversary was on the way I thought it would be the best place to propose. After taking Sarah through the Japanese garden portion of Fred Meijer Gardens (both of our favorite section of the park) we stopped at a secluded section of a deck surrounded by the beautiful water and a waterfall in the background I got down on one knee and asked Sarah to be my wife. "Really? Are you for real?" being Sarah's initial reaction she of course said yes.
