Daniel had started working in the fitness center during his junior year at Westmont. Liv had just transferred in, and the Westmont gym was so small she thought she was in the wrong place. She asked him if she was in the right spot, and Daniel informed her, unfortunately, that this was all Westmont had for their students to work out. Daniel remembered Liv's name because she was cute. Liv didn't remember Daniel's name. Liv memorized Daniel's work shifts and began timing her workouts so she'd finish right as Daniel started working at the front desk and come talk to him. It took 4 or 5 times for Daniel to finally notice and ask for Liv's number. He did this on his 21st birthday, exactly 2 years before he proposed to her. Daniel asked Liv to come to a volleyball game with him, where it became clear Liv didn't understand any of the rules of volleyball. Liv asked Daniel to go look at stars on the beach the next week. They went on their first real date to ice cream a few days later, and they've been inseparable ever since.
