Maid of Honor
Jill is one of a kind. She has a spirit and enthusiasm that wants the absolute most out of life and will get it. We were introduced by mutual friends in Austin, and quickly became close. Early on it was a lot of laughs and lot of vulnerability, and honestly that hasn’t changed. We will wear costumes for literally any occasion. We love windows down, with music loud and country roads. She’s an incredible friend, and I’m so lucky to have her by my side.
Bridesmaid
I met Chelsey in college, and was over the moon happy when her and my brother got married several years later. Having her as a sister-in-law has been the best. We geek out daily over animal videos, have bonded over deeper life conversations, and just enjoy being together. She’s a mama bear type of friend, and I’m so grateful to have her in my life.
Bridesmaid
Kellie and I met while moving into the dorms freshman year, and within months were inseparable. We coordinated outfits to class, pranked everyone we could and were quoted in the LA Times for our football knowledge…or rather lack of. She’s hilarious, a constant cheerleader for those she loves, and generous with her time and energy. She has believed and encouraged me at times when I couldn’t do that for myself. We’ve been through a lot of life together over the past 18 years, and I’m so thankful for her friendship.
Bridesmaid
When you meet Kelly, you are instantly engulfed in her warmth. You feel like you known her all your life, and want to keep her around! She has the biggest smile, and brightest light within her, and is so supportive and nurturing of her relationships. You can expect to see her as the first person on the dance floor, and the last one to leave it. =)
Best Man
Our friendship began as freshman at Colorado State University when we were the first two people to arrive for a show, hours before it actually started. Turns out he was from Austin and our shared interests had us in the same places many times in the years prior without even knowing and we would continue intentionally from there on out for years to come. We shared a house one semester knowing we both wanted to study abroad and then both found ourselves independently selected the same school in New Zealand. He was the perfect companion there and took our friendship to the next level. After many rambling road trips, we found ourselves both back in Austin. Max’s friendship is as consistent as it comes and makes its presence known when you need it most.
Groomsman
I first met Jack in Colorado through shared friends, and he’s been right by side for the last 10 years. Just recently, he relocated back to his hometown of Iowa, and I feel lucky to be reconvening with him for our wedding weekend. Jack is a friend unlike any other, and is an integral part of what will be a memorable weekend for Kara and I. He and I were pioneers (in our minds) on the Eastside of Austin and shared countless memories and laughs in our time there. He really lives life to the fullest and has more genuine passion for it than anyone I’ve ever met. While distance is more than when we shared a yard, there is no doubt our bond will remain strong and continue to evolve.
Groomsman
We first met in elementary school, were together at summer camp, but seemed to really hit our stride in High School. After moving to Austin after my sophomore year, we were lucky to both land at CSU and have that chapter together. While a great friend through it all, he has felt like a brother at times and we always seem to reconnect over shared separate experiences. A trip back to Cincinnati would not be the same without him or a sub from Penn Station. No matter where life takes us, I know I can count on him to be there.
Groomsman
I was the first Jewish person this small town Okie ever met. It’s been awesome to watch both him and our friendship grow over the past 18 years. We met living two doors down from each other in the dorms, and ended up as roommate the following year. At CSU, we did a great job working our way through the Colorado music and outdoor scenes, but our friendship really got closer after we went our separate ways. I became a big fan on my pitstops in Oklahoma driving back to Texas and have welcomed him as a frequent visitor to Austin over of the years. His southern draw is second to none, and his warmness radiates with everyone he meets.
