Our Love Story

Jordan's View

I first noticed Daniel when I was playing Sunday Frisbee at City Park in Denver, Colorado. It was Fall, 2021 and we were on the red team who had recruited me to pick up with them. I remember this guy who always wore a bucket hat and sunglasses being able to jump really high to catch my bad passes as well as run long for my deep throws. I was very impressed. About 8 weeks later we were in the championship and the other team would not let me participate because I was an unfair match to their team so they DQ me since I was only a pick-up and not actually on the roster. I spent the tournament watching my team and eating as much food as I could find from the potluck table (: This is where I really got to watch Daniel play. The first time he scored I went up and gave him a high five and told him he was really good. This was also the first time I got a good look at him because he was not wearing his sunglasses or bucket hat. I noticed his beautiful eyes and was like 'well dang'! The second time he came off the field I went up to him and asked him his full name - I had accepted a friend request from a Daniel Kaminski a few weeks before and I previously thought it was a different Daniel on another team I played on! The third time he came off - after he dropped a pull which automatically gives the disc to the other team - I made another excuse to talk to him and noted he had another secret admirer. After the game was over I went and asked Aaron, the captain, about him to see if he was single. Aaron told me that he was in fact in a relationship and was unavailable. That night I received a Facebook DM that was from the one and only Daniel Kaminski. He sent a well-worded message asking to 'play more frisbee with me because I am so fun to play with and really good'. I was shocked because I thought he had a girlfriend and asked him right away if he was single to which he replied YES. We ended up staying up very late messaging and ended up agreeing by the end of the week to play in a hat tournament together the following weekend. We were on the same team and won the entire tournament which was the start of our athletic success as a couple. The following weekend we attended a Halloween party together and about that time I noticed this guy was someone I could see myself falling in love with. A couple months after that he asked me to be his girlfriend and we have not been apart since. We are still enjoying destroying at ultimate frisbee, traveling around with my job to Colorado, Wisconsin, and California, as well as rock climbing in an indoor gym together. I cannot wait to marry this man.

Our Love Story

Dan's View

In the fall of 2021 I was on an ultimate frisbee team in Denver when a new player joined us. I didn’t know her name but it was clear that she was a great ultimate player, attractive and had a southern accent to boot! As she likes to mention, at that time my signature attire was a bucket hat and sunglasses which allowed me to observe her without her knowing. Totally not creepy I promise. That’s where my fascination for Jordan began. I was fascinated because it didn’t make sense how disinterested in the game she seemed while at the same time dominating the field. I’ll never forget the image of her standing on the sideline, perfectly tan, ankle bracelets, picking at her nails and chomping on her gum. One second not paying any attention, to the next minute effortlessly scoring for our team. Later that week I flew to Orlando and told my friends all about this girl that I had met. In fact, I’m pretty sure I told anyone I could about her. Ironically, I didn’t make any attempt to tell her how I felt. I actually think I came up with every way not to pursue her for a bunch of unnecessary reasons. Eventually, after a lot of prodding from my friends and colleagues I officially asked her to date me underneath the giant Christmas tree outside Union Station in Denver. Jordan would say we started dating at least two months prior. On February 18th, 2022 I had a major ski accident that landed me in emergency surgery and an ICU recovery. I knew the next day I was going to marry her; even though it took me over a year to officially make it happen. She got to see me at my worst, lowest and most vulnerable state but never even blinked in her commitment to me. She didn’t leave my side and used her gifts, talents and abilities to aid me in a speedy recovery. We’ve now been fortunate to travel many places, experience different foods and read our vastly different books together. We enjoy staying active with a lot of ultimate frisbee and rock climbing included. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as much as I do every day with Jordan. If you know you know, everyday is exciting when you’re around her. I truly cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with her!
