Better Together!

March 17th, most will recognize this date as St. Patricks Day.... an infamous holiday in most cities, Milwaukee topping the charts, that having fun is an absolute given! I had just moved back from Boston and was looking forward to catching up with my old Brewer's soccer club teammates at Three Lions in Shorewood. I had been warned about a keeper that had joined the club during my absense with, "..you are his type, he is going to hit on you!" That proved true within 10 minutes of entering Three Lions. Everywhere I turned there Dan was, and by the end of the evening we were dancing the night away! No dance floor needed!

I like surprises, however, we purchased all of our rings together from Zabler Designs in Door County, WI. So, I bet Dan that he, "would never be able to surprise me." Simultaneously, we had been helping design and build a deck for our friends Dustin and Jessica whom held a Deck Opening Party on October 2nd, 2020. Dan had arrived earlier for the festivities because I wanted to go for a run. By 9:00pm, the deck was packed with friends and neighbors warmed by patio heaters and the music of Ian Gould. On a break, Dustin took the mic and thanked all the people that had helped make their deck a reality and then handed Dan the mic... Dan began talking about the house he and I are building and how he needs to "right" the order of things." From there, I heard nothing else. My mind got flustered with thoughts of where to put down my beer but, before I could react, Dan was on his knee, proposing. I had never imagined this moment! I was so surprised and we couldn't be happier!
