Gina and I met while working in Richmond together. Since we both attended JMU we had an instant connection and became great friends. Ultimately, after many dinners, baseball games, concerts and nights out laughing and enjoying each other’s company, we realized we were becoming more than friends. As I was preparing to move to Virginia Beach for a new job, we decided to make things official and started dating. After two years of us cruising up and down Interstate 64, Gina moved to the Beach, ending our two-hour long distance relationship. We are thrilled to be in the same town together and excited to begin married life together.
I have known for a long time that Gina was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. So deciding to ask her to marry me was an easy decision. I just needed the ring! After several trips to the jeweler and some nervous decisions, the ring was ready to be picked up. Originally, I envisioned planning a surprise weekend trip out-of-town to ask her, but when I saw the finished ring for the first time, I knew it would be hard to wait! That night, I decided to ask her the following day. The next morning, I told her I thought it would be fun to go to a winery for lunch near Williamsburg. After the drive back in town, I asked her to go for a walk on the beach. After a few minutes (which seemed liked hours) of walking and getting the nerve up two times (Gina kept getting distracted by the beach houses), I dropped to one knee and she said yes!
