Our Next Adventure

We are thrilled to welcome you to join in our joyous celebration on October 11th, 2024, at the enchanting Historic Whitewood in Powhatan, VA. The love story of Daniel and Denali began two years ago and reached a beautiful milestone when Daniel proposed on a serene beach after sunset in St. Augustine, Florida. Throughout their journey, Daniel and Denali have shared incredible adventures and embraced wonderful new experiences together. Their excitement is palpable as they eagerly anticipate continuing these adventures and building a life together through marriage. When asked about the reasons behind their decision to wed, their answer is heartfelt: "We want to embark on this journey of marriage to grow together as individuals, create lasting memories through amazing adventures, and ultimately, start a family that we can proudly share with the world as we grow old together." We can't wait for you to be a part of the beginning of our forever. Your presence will add to the magic of this special day, and we look forward to creating cherished memories together.

Our Venue

About the venue: Located on 108 acres just 20 miles west of Richmond, Historic Whitewood is a unique wedding and event venue that combines past and present, bridging history while sparking new memories. Historic Whitewood is abundantly rich in both history and beauty. Construction began on the main farmhouse in the 1857 by the Taurman family, but the Civil War interrupted its completion. As a result, a letter to Secretary Seward by a Taurman Confederate officer asked that Federal troops not burn down the house or building materials. It is unknown whether the letter had any impact. Thankfully, the materials and home remained unharmed. When the war ended, the house was finally finished. Still standing on-site today, a small schoolhouse was used to educate the children of Charles Carter Lee of Windsor, brother of Robert E. Lee. Much handwork can be noted in the construction, and some of the additions were outbuildings later attached to the main house.
