Shayna was working at a diner downtown Kernersville, she had been working there for quite sometime when she had two guests sit in her section that would eventually change her life. The two guest happen to be no other then, Daniel himself and his lovely mother Connie. Daniel had a lot of questions about the menu, Shayna so gracefully helped him decide what to order. Now, we all know food is the way to a mans heart. At the end of their lunch, Daniel personally walked Shayna's tip to her, grabbed her hand and placed the tip in it. She said in a excited voice, "Thank you!" At that moment they made eye contact and they both felt an over whelming gravitation towards each other. Shayna did what girls do best and had to tell a co-worker "WOW! That guy I waited on is very handsome." What she didn't know was, her co-worker (Laura Baker) went to high school with that small town boy she waited on! At that moment Daniel and Shayna's worlds collided, and he began to come into eat more often. They would waste time talking and laughing, until one day Daniel asked Shayna to go on their first date; BOWLING, and the rest was history!
After 6 years together, they did develop some traditions, which happen to be a annual family beach vacation. Every year they pack the kids up and hit the road to the beautiful east coast waters, but this time it would be different. The first day they spent at the beach Daniel walked down earlier then Shayna and awaited her and the kids arrival to the sand. Upon arriving, Daniel had a treasure cove full of toys dug in the sand for the kids to unfold. As they dug in the sand of course Daniel suggested mom help too. Shayna and the kids dug in the sand revealing lots of fun treasures...until Christian (Their son) found a very special treasure (which he just tossed to the side because it wasn't a toy), Daniel swiftly picked the ring up and got on his right knee and asked Shayna to marry him; of course she couldn't say no and right there on those sandy beaches of North Carolina the story of the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Abernathy began.
