Dani & her best friend, Lance, were hanging out when Lance decides to add dating apps to Dani's phone. After a great deal of protest, Dani agrees. In her mind, it would be a funny story and she'd erase the app in the morning. Well, I guess you can say, Lance brought Dani & Andre together... Lance ... and Tinder. Finally, after numerous attempts of trying to connect before 10 pm, per Andre's request, the two finally connected on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. It's true they started their conversation before 10 o'clock that night, but they didn't hang up until the wee hours the next morning. Time seemed to stand still as they talked about everything; from the superficial "getting to know you" topics, to life experiences, the good and the bad-stories they usually wouldn't share with someone they just met, and from politics to art & music. It was their shared love for similar music that intensified the already strong pull towards each other. Dani & Andre knew they wanted to explore their connection and arranged a date for the next evening. They went into the date with no expectations but by the night of January 25, 2018, went down in both of their books as the "Best first date ever!"
Laying in bed the night before the two planned to fly to San Fransisco for The Voice auditions Dani turns to Andre and says, "I would marry you tomorrow in San Fransisco." Andre replies, "Funny thing, I already looked it up!" They both laugh and flirt with the idea. A plan is set in motion, if Dani makes it on The Voice, they will wait until May so she could maintain focus. Funny thing is, Dani wanted to elope way more than she wanted to be on The Voice. Andre being incredibly supportive, surprised Dani with the first callback. "Hey babe, so I did a thing. I summited some of your videos to The Voice and they invited you to the next audition in San Fransisco." Isn't he the sweetest?!?! In their eyes, fate will dictate what happens next. Throughout their relationship events always seem to unfold in a way that could only be written in the stars, and this was no exception. Dani did make it to the next round, but there was something palpable about San Fransisco that drew the two lovebirds in; they were caught up in the rapture of love. The idea of having a ceremony that was only theirs, sacred, was too alluring to deny. Rather than fight it, Dani & Andre decided to trust the pull and the universe's plans. With Angela, their Lyft driver with whom they instantly connected with, as the witness ( and photographer), they say "I do" in San Fransisco City Hall. It was like a fairy tale. This City Hall was unlike any other you may have been to. No, this was more like a European Cathedral or castle. It was the perfect time & place to become "The Torkelsons"! There's one step missing from their union in Dani & Andre's eyes. Most importantly to include their son, Xavier, in their ceremonial union. And, to be embraced by their friends & family as they share their vows, joing the two families.
