We were in calculus class together at UCSC. During one fateful afternoon class, the instructor made a joke and we both looked around the classroom looking for someone to laugh with. No one in the class even flinched except the two of us. Our eyes met, we laughed together at the joke, and then after class we introduced ourselves.
We became close friends during our classes together and Tyler visited Danielle over the summer in Sacramento. But it wasn't until October of the next school year that Danielle finally fell hard for Tyler. After spending the weekend together in San Francisco, Tyler asked Danielle to be his girlfriend and she said "I think I already am."
During a long weekend camping trip in the Eastern Sierras, on the banks of Convict Lake among the aspen trees with yellow leaves, Tyler got down on one knee with his grandmother's diamond and asked Danielle to spend the rest of their lives together. We couldn't be happier!
