When we tell our story, people always say, "Sounds like a Hallmark Movie". Dan and I knew each other back in high school (Anaconda High School in Anaconda, Montana). We both hung around the same group. Our Junior year, we went to a prom together "as friends". We both felt there was something there but were too shy to say anything. That summer, my family moved to Georgia. My father was a Dr. at the State Hospital in Montana and became ill. A decision was made to move to Georgia for warmer weather. Both Dan and I went on with our separate lives. We met one other time during our 20th High School reunion again as old time friends. But during a lifetime, many changes happen. I became a widow and Dan divorced. My girlfriends (Roxanne and Mary Jean) asked me to come to our 40th class reunion so I decided to go. Dan had no plans to attend the reunion. Justin (Dan's son) were having lunch and he mentioned to Dan to go to Thompson's Bar where they were having a class reunion get together that afternoon. Roxanne and I were leaving Thompson's Bar and Dan walked in as we were leaving. We talked for a moment and then he asked me if I would like a ride back to Roxanne's house on the back of his Harley. I had never riden on a back of a Harley but it wasn't a far ride so I said ok. Once we got to Roxanne's, he asked if I would like to take a quick ride around Georgetown Lake. Sounded fun so did that too. The reunion continued that evening with a bowling get together. To my surprise Dan was there and some how ended up on the same team. Dan told his friend to put him on my team which I didn't know until a month later. After the reunion, I went back to Orlando, FL. Dan text me daily to say hello for a month and then finally we started talking on the phone. I eventually planned another trip back to visit my friends and Dan and the rest is history. It has been a 5 yr long distance relationship but an awesome one and we plan on living happily ever after!!
