1st May 2024
As much as we'd love to accommodate plus ones for the day reception, our venue capacity is limited for the meal so we've had to stick to family and close friends only. Unless we've spoken to you personally, please don't surprise us with any surprise guests. Some day reception guests, if you have a specific plus one, they will be RSVPing separately to the evening reception. Invites will be sent out in due course. Confused by anything? Please speak with us and hopefully we can sort something out.
The answer unusually to this is...yes! The church is dog friendly, but we ask you to keep precious pooches (and children) on laps or leashes. For the reception, we will have a separate kids table set up in the barn, but parents please note this is separate to the greenhouse where we will be having our main meal so they will require supervision. As there's a few family children attending, you're welcome to organise a babysitter or other kind of childcare assistance to oversee this. There'll also be an activity area (pending weather) for the kids too, but we do ask that priority is given to some serious adult dance moves when the evening guests arrive at 7pm, as we expect much murder on the dancefloor, that might not be children under 5 appropriate. Dogs and other pets (sorry no cats) We're a dog friendly bunch, with our very own Rudy taking centre stage as always in our ceremony. We're planning to get the pooches looked after by a local dog walker for a portion of the day when the reception is in full swing, as we are located in the best park in London, so if you'd like to include your dog in this, let us know ahead of time. Dogs must be on leash at all times throughout the greenhouse grounds.
We know a London based wedding isn't ideal for our dearest who aren't so (geographically) nearest, so we really appreciate you making the effort to travel to London for our big day. Travelling by Train: London, being the capital and all, is well served with train stations, some better experiences than others (looking at you London Euston, you chaotic mess). Travelling to Brixton by tube: Brixton (Zone 2) is the last stop southbound on the Victoria Line (light blue). Main bus routes that serve Brixton from central London: 59, 159, 2, 3 Getting to the chapel from Brixton tube: 0.4km walk, roughly 7 mins Google maps is your friend here folks. The church is a very short walk from the tube station. If you turn left when exiting, and walk along Brixton Road, passing the famous Electric Avenue on your left, you'll come to a junction where opposite you'll see the Ritzy cinema (Windrush Square) and Lambeth Town Hall on your right. If you head across Windrush Square, and continue on towards the big church with a bell tower (St Matthew's Church), and continue on, St Matthew's Road is situated directly behind it. On your map, St Matthew's Road is situated in the triangle of roads (with Effra Road on the left and Brixton Hill on the right). Trinity Chapel is situated about half way down St Matthew's Road. By Car: If you're coming by car (you're brave!) and please speak to your chosen accommodation about parking. There are limited parking spaces available around the church, but you can use different apps to rent a parking space for the day.
Ceremony begins at 1pm, please be seated in the church by 12.30pm We imagine the ceremony will last 1hr, with photographs outside the church afterwards so please do stick around. For day reception guests, please head to Brockwell Community Greenhouses for 3pm. Evening guest arrival is from 7pm. The event finishes at 11pm.
The church is an indoor venue. The greenhouses and attached bar are a mixture of indoor and outdoor.
Strictly informal, just wear the glad rags you feel comfortable in! But please refrain from any birthday suits.
All drinks will be provided including alcoholic and non alcoholic options, however if you fancy bringing something of your own, you're more than welcome, but please be aware we might not have available refrigeration for all.
As much as we love receiving gifts, we really do have everything we could possibly need, so your presence is gift enough. But if you would like to gift us something, we won't say no to some US dollars for our honeymoon roadtrip. We'll have a monzo account you can send money to or you can post us a cheque or cash in our US mail box on the day.
