Ah, January 2020. A time of crisp air, endless optimism, and… blind dates set up by well-meaning friends. Enter Kylie Holsted (Dana’s grad school classmate) and Parker Templet (Grant’s friend from College), the Cupid duo who dared to introduce a Baylor Bear to a TCU Horned Frog (former Ohio State Buckeye). Little did they know, they were about to set in motion a story that would withstand the wildest curveball of the century: a global pandemic. Our first date was a Dallas Mavericks game – a fitting metaphor for the rollercoaster ride we were about to embark on. We laughed, we flirted, we sweat out our bets. But the real sparks flew off the court. We didn’t wait long for our next date where we shut down Sixty Vines and continued the evening with midnight Mcflurrys. The first of many. Then, March arrived, and the world screeched to a halt. We were faced with a choice: retreat to our respective corners or take a leap of faith and quarantine together. We chose the latter. Grant practically became an honorary Pahanish family member 3 months in. We discovered just about every walking trail Southlake, Texas had, adopted a furry walking buddy - Ivy, and embarked on road trips that painted the map with memories: New Mexico's fiery sunsets, Arkansas's misty mountains, Colorado's breathtaking peaks, and Arizona's otherworldly canyons. In May 2021, we packed up our lives and Ivy's tennis balls and embarked on a new chapter to Denver, CO, our new mountain home. Four years have flown by in a whirlwind of stolen kisses, late-night talks, and adventures both big and small. And on August 17th, 2024, we'll stand hand in hand, promising forever to the woman who turned a pandemic into a playground, the girl who makes every day feel like a victory lap, my beautiful Dana Pahanish. So, please join us to celebrate the love story that defied the odds, road maps scribbled with laughter, and the day a Baylor Bear and a TCU Horned Frog find their happily ever after in the heart of the Rockies.
