We'll be close to Malibu, which is a great place for wineries, hikes (we like Solstice Canyon and Zuma Canyon), a beach day, or just to visit the pier!
For those who want to explore more of LA, it's never a bad idea to check out Santa Monica and/or Venice. The Santa Monica Pier is a national historic landmark that's been around since 1909 and has since been reimagined as a fun place to enjoy a variety of fun activities, carnival games, rides, vendor carts, and tasty bites! The whole area has a lot of good bars and restaurants that we would be happy to recommend.
Admission is free, but reservations are required at this time. Beautiful lush gardens, modern architecture, amazing city views, and centuries worth of art to explore. If you have a day to spend, you can visit the Getty Center, or the Getty Villa Museum located in Pacific Palisades/Malibu which features Greek and Roman antiquities displayed throughout a stunningly recreated Roman-style country home.
If you're dying to get out in nature, there's a great park in Thousand Oaks. Paradise Falls is the most popular trailhead there.
If you want to get out, but don't want to hike, it's highly recommended to visit the privately-owned Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks.
For Gabe's golfer friends, we are actually getting married at the golf course Los Robles Greens, which is a great and inexpensive public course. Get a tee time at the link!
Ventura County has some excellent breweries. Here are a few very close to the venue: Tarantula Hill, Eureka, Pedals & Pints, Naughty Pine, Lady Face, Topa Topa, 14 Cannons, Figueroa Mountain, Bottle & Pint, Institution Ale Co., Enegren, Flat Fish, and Malibu Brewing.
Ventura County and Malibu are also great places to check out Southern California wines. Some of the most popular ones include: Rosenthal Malibu Estate, Triunfo Creek Vineyards, Malibu Wines & Biergarten, Summer Somewhere Wines, The Stonehaus Bar & Restaurant, Giessenger Cellars & Cidery, Opolo Wines Westlake Village, or you can even do the Malibu Wine Hikes!
