Daltons great grandmother owned a home down the street from the house I lived & spent most of my childhood🏠. Dalton lived with her for a couple of years & rode the bus 🚌 with my siblings, soon becoming friends with my brother (Addi) in the 1st grade . He had moved away by the time I was old enough to ride the bus with him. Between then and the time I was 13 all I heard about him was that he was a turd, getting into trouble and breaking the rules. I didn’t like it and I didn’t like him. 🚫 During the local Christmas Parade 🎄of that year my mom gave my sister (Autumn) and I permission to go with Autumns friends to watch the Parade. (At this time we did not know our Dad was heading into town, relevant for later.) We went and seemed to all be having a good time until I turned around for a moment.Autumn was gone, missing, like Houdini! 🪄 We all start looking frantically & shouting her name as loud as 3 teenage girls could! One of her friends runs to me saying she swore she just saw Autumn with a Boy inside a nearby coffee shop, ☕️okay… so it’s my job to get her? Ugh family sucks! So I run to the coffee shop ready to make a scene, which I did! My sister cussed me out and walks over to meet her friends. I think to stop this boy in his tracks… it was Dalton (with a group of his friends) I said (PG version) “if you ever get near my sister again I will make sure you aren’t around anymore”… ⚰️ after making my promises I turned around ready to March away, behind me however was my dad leaning against his mustang, watching me threaten my now precious Dalton. My Dad said “Amy get your butt into the car” all of us girls squeezed into the back and pretended like it was a ride we didn’t need words for. Fast forward 2 years. I’m 15 he’s 18. We understood the rules but we didn’t care. A harmless crime, in fact a crime that needed to be broken for us to have the chemistry 🧪 we have today. We weren’t official but we were hanging out, spending time together, laughing and almost falling in love just not dumb enough to do that to ourselves. We were seconds away from falling in love until the protection of my family stepped into play. Addi had heard rumors of Dalton continuing to be a turd 💩 so he did what any older brother should do, he threatened Dalton to stop seeing me. Dalton agreed to avoid any further confrontation considering 90% of their friends were mutual and it was a small town at the time. The following year I moved to Texas ✈️. Dalton and I spoke often. We would video chat 📲through long nights and talk life, sorrows and joys. We truly bonded over the next few years. However I thought I would never make it back to Missouri and honestly I hadn’t fully started to believe that he had changed, that he had spent the time on HIMSELF! I was worried he was simply taking me for a ride but a part of me didn’t care, but we each continued to live our own lives,No strings attached cause there was no reason for it. (All things to a halt when we dated other people but none of those relationships lasted long) When I was 18 I moved back to Missouri ✈️ & Immediately started spending time with Dalton again, he truly had changed so much from when he was a young turd! He made it impossible to NOT fall in love with him and honestly y’all it was the best freaking decision I’ve made in my life ❤️
