How We Met

@ Collins Field

Amy was a member of the Faith Methodist softball team. Dakota moved to Kearney and joined the team. At the first practice in the summer of 2016 he was "showing off" to attract Amy's attention. They became facebook friends first, and began small talk through there. As the softball season continued they exchanged numbers and began exploring a relationship.

The Proposal

Harlan Reservoir

Dakota and Amy traveled to Harlan lake for a friends wedding. They spent the day on the lake together waiting for their friends to join them. After meeting everyone along the beach side of Cedar Point. Dakota had intentions that Amy was unaware of. As Amy was talking with their friends by their pontoon boat, Dakota appeared to be fishing. When Amy noticed him fishing she began to scold him for fishing near the kids. Dakota had Amy reel in his line as he went out in the water to bring the line around the boat. Dakota began walking towards the shore as the line came around to Amy, she stated to him "Are you happy you caught a piece of bark." When it got closer Amy saw that the piece of bark was actually a wooden fish that read "Will you marry me?"
