Like every good love story, it all started in New Jersey. Janine was born and raised in Sparta, NJ by Judy and Bill. She had a unique childhood where she would get paid to look cute and have photos taken of her for the likes of Children's Place and Lily Pulitzer. Later on she became too cool for that, and found a love for music, writing and making silly videos with her friends. All of these loves lead her to Boston to study screenwriting and film producing at Emerson College.
Born in Jersey by Greg & Michele, Steve was a few days away from being born on an airplane from Tokyo to New Jersey. He grew up in Madison, NJ before moving to London to experience the same schooling as the states except their class pet was a rat and he made brownies with Tom Cruise. Upon returning back to Jersey and sadly losing his little British accent, he fell in love with filmmaking. So much so that he moved to California to follow his dream and purse it. To this day he really hopes the whole filming thing works out.
During their junior year of school, their mutual friend Brian introduced the two. One of Steve's first interactions with her was seeing her learn how a gas station works. We all know Jersey Girls don't pump their own gas. When Janine went out to LA a year later, she became smitten with her new friend Steve. She couldn’t tell if he reciprocated the feelings, but he definitely was interested in hanging out a lot. One night, he asked her to have dinner. The two met at Granville Cafe in Glendale, having a lovely dinner and conversation. She was so excited that he finally asked her on a date, but later she would learn he thought he was just having dinner with a friend. He did think she was cute though.
Eventually the Hollywood boy would be charmed by her Jersey wit and incredible poof. They began dating in March 2015 and spend their time exploring Los Angeles (mostly the east side) and traveling to San Diego, San Francisco and Santa Barbara. When her graduation came in May, the two agreed to be long distance with Steve in the land of lost dreams, and Janine in bean town.
By the end of 2015, Steve decided to move back east to New York where he could grow his production company (and get the heck out of LA). Janine was ready to leave Boston and moved in with him and Griffin. They all worked together out of this apartment starting The Family. Over the course of 8 years, they had four other roommates and countless guests stay in their humble abode.
Having both worked in the music industry, Steve doing visuals for musicians, and Janine being a radio personality and Bonnaroo dood, they bonded over live music. And if you love music, all roads lead down to New Orleans. Cue, JAZZ. They return to this beautiful city over and over to celebrate Jazz Fest, going a total of 6 times!
For her 30th birthday, Janine was surprised with a trip to Puerto Rico. She had absolutely no idea but was ecstatic to spend her birthday on the beach for the first time ever. And with that came many surprises like a big phat blingbling ring a dingding.
And all that brings us to today. The celebration of love for two bbs from jersey. After months of searching for the right way to celebrate (and many discussions of eloping in Italy), we met Billiam of Liberty View Farms. He only hosts weekend weddings and could not be a more perfect fit. So again, we really hope to see you all on this very special weekend.
