We are looking forward to FINALLY celebrating our marriage with you all. Thank you for all the support. We cannot wait to see you in April!
Shelby had recently seen her friend from High School, Ben, over the holidays (2018) while he was back in the Boston area. Shelby mentioned to Ben that she was recently single and starting the dating process again. It got Ben's wheels turning, and later that day he texted Shelby that he actually might have a prospect - a handsome Jewish doctor from Newton who he knew from his time in New Orleans (Eric was in med school at Tulane while Ben was there doing Teach for America). Unfortunately for Shelby, Eric was seeing someone else, so he politely declined Ben's offer and that was that....or so we thought... Fast forward six months...Shelby reconnected with a camp friend, Brett, who had recently started working with Shelby's college girlfriend, Cassie, and the three of them went to dinner. At dinner, Brett brought up to Shelby that she thought her High School friend, a handsome Jewish doctor from Newton, would be a great match (can someone say Dejavu!). Then and there, she texted her friend Eric a few photos of Shelby with some overly kind compliments and just like that he agreed to the set-up. Fortunately for Shelby, Eric's fling from six months prior had fizzled & Brett quickly formed a group text chat. That Friday, S+E were on their first date at a low-key neighborhood bar (21st Amendment) in Beacon Hill. Eric was a few minutes late (no surprise), but found Shelby fashionably sipping her characteristic tequila soda at the bar. There was immediate chemistry! Over the course of that first date, they identified innumerable mutual friends, common interests, and shocking similarities ("you also went to college at a small liberal arts school in upstate NY?!" -- "our brothers are next door neighbors?!" -- "you too have a new baby niece!?"). Before they knew it, it was midnight. They stepped outside to say farewell, a kiss was had, and the rest is history!
