It's a typical love story. Two kids graduate from the same college on the same day and never cross paths (that they know of). Fast forward a few years and they both move to the same area, living just 2 miles apart for a period of time. After living in the same city for 7 years, they meet on a dating site. 9 months after dating, the two decided it was time for Joey to meet Crystal's kids, Parker and Camdyn (5 and 8 at the time). That night, after dinner at Texas Roadhouse and bowling, all four of them realized their "family" was about to change. Joey met the kids he didn't realize he was destined to raise - until that night. A few months later at a hotel in Palm Beach, the two set a timeline and decided to take the next step - moving in together. Joey quickly adjusted to having an overnight family in his house. Crystal slowly but surely learned how to pick up after herself. (Joey may or may not agree with this statement). A little over a year later, about an hour after surprising their kids with their first trip to Florida, Joey decided there was room for one more surprise. He (finally) got down on his knee and asked Crystal to marry him, with Parker and Camdyn standing nearby. After carefully reviewing the Iowa Hawkeyes Football schedule, Joey decided to give up the rest of his birthdays, as they decided to get married on his birthday, November 16, 2019 (because he could live with missing the Minnesota game). "Family is family, whether it's the one you start out with, the one you end with, or the family you gain along the way."
