Barclay and I started to talk at the camping trip to McConaughy. When we both came home we stalked each other on Facebook and I finally sent him a message. From there we exchanged phone numbers and talked for a week. We made plans to take a motorcycle ride to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Taking the back roads I lost my bandana and my sunglasses. Rules of the road being what they are, we had to turn around to get my glasses. We walked around Garden of the Gods for a couple of hours talking and eventually holding hands. Before we left we had a our first sweet kiss. As we were leaving the Barclay needed help getting the bike over a big bump in the parking lot. After helping by pushing the bike from the front, we loaded up and headed to find lunch. The Cracker Barrel was the perfect choice to a wonderful day. I had the best peach tea and a great time getting to know the man of my dreams. And as they say the rest is history!!
We took an 18-day motorcycle trip to the east coast in June. Barclay had me help pick out my own ring. The proposal was the surprise! I had an idea that he was going to pop the question on this particular trip but wasn't sure when. We went to lake Erie and left there nothing happened. Then to Niagara Falls and left still nothing. We went days and days, place to place. He told me that he forgot the ring at home and had the rest of our group telling me that too. We were in New Hampshire riding to the top of Mt Washington when Barclay had told our friends that he was going to do it there. When we got to the top, he pointed at the sign with the elevation on it and said "I'm going to do it right there!". 5 mins later it was our turn to take our picture in front of the sign. Barclay looked like he was just repositioning himself but in fact he was bending down on one knee and pulling the ring box out of his pocket. I never saw it coming! The people behind us knew about it and asked what happens if she says no. Barclay being Barclay said "Well I guess she is walking home!" I was over the moon and I fall more in love with him every day! See you all in Denver!
