Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Avery Croghan and Matthew Oliver
These are a few locations of the many that Av and Matt have for dates, and places they have spent significant time together, before and after they were Betrothed to each other.
Roaring Camp

Roaring Camp

5401 Graham Hill Road, Felton, CA 95018
, (831) 335-4484

Awesome train ride that can take you up or down the mountain. It travels from Felton at Roaring camp down into Santa Cruz and makes a stop at the Boardwalk. We have worked at Roaring Camp with the 5 Star Catering Company and it is a beautiful spot. Tickets can be bought online prior to the train ride so look into if time permits that weekend.

Shrine of Saint Joseph

Shrine of Saint Joseph

544 West Cliff Drive, Santa Cruz, CA 95060

We started dating while we attended this church. We love the Shrine and all that it has to offer! The beautiful community, mass, proximity to the ocean and its new coffee shop that we stopped at almost every time after the 11am mass. If you have time to go to mass or interested in confession at 10am we highly recommend it. The Oblates of St Joseph are amazing Shepherds of the Lord.

Saint Josephs Catholic Church

Saint Josephs Catholic Church

435 Monterey Avenue, Capitola, CA 95010

We go to mass here occasionally together, but mostly we love this spot because we spend time together praying rosaries and talking in front of the church, asking each other countless thought provoking questions. We love sitting here and going to adoration to offer up our day and relationship that the Lord has Blessed us with.

Capitola Village

Capitola Village

Capitola

No address for this location. We will walk down to the village for a pizza slice, ice cream scoop or to dance on the stage that is down by the sand. We love to watch the waves and birds. We stick our toes in the sand and step into the cool water, grounding ourselves to the moment we are spending together. The Village has all kinds of food and drink options as well as the beach and surf shops. From fancy to casual they have it all.

Heavenly Roadside Café

Heavenly Roadside Café

1210 Mount Hermon Road, Scotts Valley, CA 95066
, 831-335-1210

We were looking for breakfast one morning before a Sunday shift in the mountains and found this spot. The host had a chance because we called 25 minutes ahead of time, got a spot on the waitlist and drove from Capitola. When we got there 25 minutes later the table was ready with no questions. The other Sunday breakfast guests were shocked as we waltzed through the door and into a seat. Now we always call ahead of time for a seat when we have breakfast in Scotts Valley. The food is amazing and always leaves us full and happy. We highly recommend the French Toast, Loaded potatoes, and coffee.

Jack's Hamburger

Jack's Hamburger

202 Lincoln St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060
, (831) 423-4421

Amazing burger spot we go to regularly when looking for a burger fix. We love burgers and this place is worth the wait (usually 15 minutes). If you are looking for a quick lunch they have a variety and it would be a perfect meal while heading to the beach.

Akira Seabright

Akira Seabright

1222 Soquel Avenue, Santa Cruz, CA 95062
, (831) 600-7093

We go to Akira for date nights when we are feeling sushi, edamame, wakame and a pint of Sapporo. Their service is great, the food is tasty and the Soquel avenue is always busy enough to feel like we are out on the town. Recommend for dinner.
