Things To Do

Stanley is a very small Idaho mountain town. (Population is less than 150 people) Needless to say, there are not many amenities. But, Stanley holds a very special place in Rider and my heart. Stanley is home to the Sawtooth Mountain Range, with peaks that are over 10,000 ft and four major rivers; the Payette, Salmon, Boise, and Big Wood. There are hundreds of lakes, some possibly hike-able in early June, depending on the weather, and other lakes that you are able to drive up to and enjoy. If you are new to Stanley, please make sure to prepare for unpredictable mountain weather; you can have every season in one day, so layers are a smart choice. Additionally, Stanley is part of the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve, so if the cloud cover is clear, be prepared to see some of the most brilliant star gazing! Ultimately, Stanley is a peaceful, naturally stunning place, that I hope everyone will come to love as much as we do!
