They met freshman year of high school in the athletics hallway at James Bowie High School. Cruz was playing football and Cristina was playing volleyball. Although Cristina had many friends from Bailey Middle School, she had yet to lay her eyes on Cruz until high school. Upon first glance, she was in love. Cruz on the other hand... was oblivious. They spent some time as friends getting to know each other and hanging out in groups of mutual friends. On April 27, 2012, Cruz asked Cristina to be his girlfriend. After almost passing out of excitement, she said yes! Through sporting events, studying, prom and all other high school events, they were by each other's side. High school sweethearts. As college came around, Cristina went to Texas A&M University and Cruz went to the University of Houston. They spent time going back and forth to visit each other and would frequently meet in Austin with their families. Cristina graduated from A&M in 2019 and moved back to Austin to continue her pursuit of a medical degree. Cruz decided to make the switch to study computer information systems, adding a few extra years to his collegiate studies. When COVID hit, Cristina had a change of heart and decided to switch to the tech field. She eventually got hired at General Motors as a Software Test Engineer. Cruz graduated from UH in spring 2023 and is working at Dell Technologies as a Software Engineer. 11 years later....Cruz proposed. Happiest day of their lives. April 8, 2023. They are now finally in the same city, building their first home in Buda, TX. They are ecstatic to start this new chapter of their lives together, working as tech geeks in the live music capital of the world. They are so grateful for all of the love and support they have received from their families and friends throughout the years. It's a wonderful feeling to have so many loved ones in your corner and they couldn't be more appreciative. Let's get this party started!!
