The year is 2016. We initially met when I was interviewing for a position at a new restaurant opening in Hilton Village (Kismet Bistro) and Charlie was the interviewer. We hit it off great, I was offered a position and was set to start training. When it came time for me to train, I hadn’t heard back from Charlie and was basically ghosted without reason. I was livid! I was so excited to start with a new and fresh restaurant closer to home and then never had the opportunity to. So I sent a strongly worded Facebook message to him and never got a response so that was the last I heard of him…. Until 2020. October 2020. I was aimlessly swiping on Hinge (a dating app), irritated with not being able to meet someone organically, when I swiped across to Charlie’s profile. I knew who he was, everyone did. I’d had a crush on him since I met him in 2016 lol. I just couldn’t believe he was single- the last I knew; he was still dating someone from when we first met. So I sent him a message telling him that his doppelgänger was John Krasinski and it somehow worked! Our first date was settled at Venture and he admitted later that he almost bailed on me out of nervousness. After a couple drinks and some tequila shots, we both seemed to get a little more comfortable with each other. After dinner, he invited me back to his dads dock for “dock wine” as we affectionately call it now. A little skeptical, but also I’m my YOLO mindset, I agreed and we spent hours fishing, drinking wine, and spilling our deepest secrets. It was after that night that I never spent a night alone from him again. Over the course of that time, we moved into our own house a few months later, and adopted our vivacious pup, Rosie. He then proposed August 2021 at home with lots of ugly crying. In the place we loved the most. We have now added on to the family with our pup, Buoy and a human on the way in August ❤️🌈
