When love was least expected, it hit both like a train on tracks. It came towards us with no turning back. Shortly after meeting, it was clear to both that this was something special. We both have such a love for animals, children, and both share the same views and goals, that it was certain that this was something unique. After being together for a few months, the unthinkable happened. A world pandemic hit, and we were both faced with uncertainties. Even with the chaos unfolding around us, we grew deeper in love. We lifted each other up through the darkest of times, and we supported and believed in one another when the future was unknown. It is rare that a person finds someone who loves them unconditionally. It is guaranteed, most of the time, that family members love one without conditions. However, when a person finds that in another soul, one that does not owe them anything, it is a gift unlike any other. The gift is not always easy, but it is a gift that is always worth fighting for. It is the gift that makes one feel fully alive for the first time, the gift that makes someone feel completely secure and safe, and it is the gift that makes one feel as if they have finally arrived home. That is what we have found with one another. We have found our home, our forever home.
