We met at a bar near our homes just before Thanksgiving - out in the wild, one might say. She came from a friendsgiving party. He was celebrating a friend's birthday. We started talking and Colleen had the confidence to think she could beat Craig at a game of basketball pop-shot. Unfortunately, the game wasn't working and we continued to enjoy the evening. The next day we texted about decorating our homes for Christmas and Colleen agreed to go out on a date with Craig. Later that week, we went out to a bar to put Colleen's basketball pop-shot skills to a test. The surprise of the night was not that Colleen lost some arcade games, but that she was preparing to move to Seattle - a fact that slipped Craig's memory the first night they met. Fortunately, the dates continued and maybe Archie won her over or she realized how far away Seattle was from Houston - but Colleen decided not to move to Seattle. And the rest was really history for us.
Two years later Colleen was prost-ing her way through Germany on a last minute work trip that lasted longer than expected while Craig was enlisting the help of the sisters (and Becca) to pick out the ring. After wrapping up her trip through Germany Colleen finally returned home where Craig had decked the halls for Christmas. The first thing Colleen saw as she walked into the house was a beautifully lit Christmas tree with a card perfectly placed on it. She opened the letter with complete shock as she read his words and saw the ornament with "Our First Christmas Engaged" written on it. Craig got down on one knee and Colleen said yes before he could even ask the question. We got to celebrate with our people and it was truly the best proposal.
