Our Story

Our story begins in August 2018. Anyone who knows my husband-to-be, Craig Canella, knows that if he can order it online, that's how he gets it. So, it's no surprise that our love story started on the Tinder app. Believe it or not, we are in a successful Tinder relationship. In August 2018, I had my first free weekend in months. Feeling the need for some time alone, I decided to head to the beach. My father always told me I had a bit of a gypsy soul, rarely staying home when I wasn't at work. So, I hopped in my car and started driving. I ended up in Washington, PA, and stopped at Waffle House. While there, I googled the nearest beach and found Lake Erie in Presque Isle. That's where I was headed when Craig and I matched on Tinder on August 16, 2018, sparking our first conversation. We soon began going on dates, watching movies, and taking walks with Riley. By November, Craig mustered the courage to ask me to be his girlfriend. Nervous about jumping into a relationship, I hesitated and ghosted him. But Craig was persistent. Towards the end of December, he sent me flowers at work, and I decided to give him another chance. On January 2, 2019, we officially started dating. Our relationship has had its ups and downs. In August 2019, while discussing the crazy things kids do, I called my dad about something I did when I was three. He casually mentioned that I might be pregnant. I laughed it off, but on August 28, a test confirmed it. We were expecting it! On October 7, at our first ultrasound, hearing our son's heartbeat and seeing the joy on Craig's face was unforgettable. Craig naturally stepped into the role of being a father to my son, Braxton, long before our child was on the way. In February 2020, the world shut down due to the pandemic, altering our plans. Instead of traveling to DC, we celebrated Craig's birthday on March 28 at his parents' house. The next night, after a day of chores and shopping, Craig and I realized our son wasn't moving. We tried everything, but at 3:30 AM, we headed to the hospital. In the labor and delivery unit, the doctors confirmed our worst fear: there was no heartbeat. Craig held my hand tightly as we absorbed the news. We went home to gather our things and returned to be induced. On March 30, during labor, Craig was right by my side; during our entire pregnancy, Craig always said that if I went into labor at home and couldn't make it to the hospital (HE WAS CALLING Swantek because he's done this before!) But when it was time for me to push on March 31, our amazing OB looked at Craig and asked if he wanted to catch our son, and he said absolutely. Despite the heartache, we found solace in each other. I genuinely believe that with all we have gone through, We have a bond that is now unbreakable. Craig and I share a deep passion for adventure and enjoy engaging in activities such as hiking, spontaneous road trips, and bowling; P.S. Craig has impressive bowling skills and mini-golf. Some of our favorite TV shows include The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place, and The Blacklist, and (M*A*S*H 4077 Hawkeye Pierce is our favorite. If you know, you know.) We also strongly appreciate movies, particularly 007, the Ocean's movies, Top Gun, and essentially any action-packed film. Additionally, we find Bert Kreischer's stand-up comedy incredibly entertaining. We have cherished experiences such as canoeing on Lake Erie, exploring Arizona, and embarking on numerous trips to Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and Yellowstone. We are the parents of two little boys, Braxton and Craig, and two beautiful dogs. We are eagerly looking forward to our wedding on October 19, 2024. We can't wait to embark on this new chapter of our lives and are thrilled to celebrate this special occasion with all of you.
