The Bumble Swipe Right

11.28.2018

Flipping through bumble a familiar face appeared. She recognized a pretty good looking man that she knew standing next to a really really handsome guy she wanted to know!! Neither of them recognized each other, even though they had been at a Fall Brawl Golf Event together 5 years earlier, and had a good number of mutual friends. With a simple swipe right the match was instant because that really really handsome guy had already swiped 'yes' earlier to a picture of her laughing and making a snow angel. "Is that Mr. Burley?" was her opening line! Of all of the great pick-up lines to come before, this is definitely now the all-time greatest! They chatted for a short while and decided to meet at the newly opened Lucky Cricket in St. Louis Park for a happy hour cocktail. She came right from work, while he came right from Magnum P.I. with a killer Tom Selleck mustache for Movember. She was warned with a picture and still showed up. A couple of tiki concoctions and appetizers took them from a happy hour stop to a 10 hour first date. Amazing conversation, a lot of laughs, and a late night pizza at The Loop made for an incredibly fun first date. She was kind enough to drive him one block to his apartment, on her way home, so he didn't have to walk in the cold. Later he would confess, "I was going to be really disappointed if things didn't work out between us." To which she confessed, "I wasn't sold, it took a good three dates before I knew". And on that third date they booked a flight to Mexico to spend New Year's on Isla Mujeres. They've continued traveling, laughing, and enjoying each and every day together since that first swipe. (The other guy in the picture is marrying us!!)

For all the days along the way
