In college we were both members of Texas A&M's tour guide organization. We vaguely knew of each other but had not spent much time together. April of 2019 was the End of Year Banquet for the organization and we both had to help set up. We saw each other across the room and Nate thought to himself, "I have to go talk to her." We set up for the banquet, sat at the same table, and started chatting. That led to a few study dates and then a few real dates and we've been inseparable ever since. It didn't take long to realize we had both found the person we were meant to spend the rest of our lives with.
Courtney and Nate were on a 2 week Europe trip with their friend Eddy, traversing through Slovenia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Courtney was hoping that Nate was going to propose on the trip, but had no clue whether or not it would actually happen. Her exact words were, "Where else would we go this year that could possibly be better than Europe?" Little did Courtney know that Nate had been hiding the ring in his bag the whole trip (sometimes she even carried it in their backpack and had no idea). On their last full day in the Czech Republic, Nate had convinced Courtney that they had to get an early start to the day if they wanted to do everything that they had planned for that day. They got a ride over to the Charles Bridge, Courtney still convinced that Eddy was meeting them there and it was truly just going to be a busy last day in Prague. When Eddy was supposedly "running late," Nate led Courtney down to the bank of the river where he proposed, and obviously she said yes!
