CB: A few months after graduating from college, I moved to Chicago on August 1st, 2018. I started work on August 2nd, 2018, and I met Courtney in the PwC office on August 3rd, 2018. We have not looked back since. From the first day we met, I could tell there was something special about Courtney, and I am so glad she agreed to spend the rest of her life putting up with me.
CH: After what I thought was just a stressful week at work for Cooper, I woke up on Saturday, August 7th, with the intention of letting him plan our day to ensure it was filled with things that could help him relax and unwind. This meant letting him take me on a 6 mile jaunt around the city on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year. Unbeknownst to me, our walk included stops at many locations with sentimental value to us. The walk finally ended at the Diversey Harbor, where I reminded Cooper we had watched the sunrise on one of our early dates. Clearly I was not connecting the dots on Cooper's plan for the day, because as I sat on the park bench for a short break, I was incredibly surprised when Cooper got down on one knee and popped the question. After asking him about ten times if he was serious, the reality sunk in, and I said “yes” to Cooper asking me to be his wife! The moment was captured wonderfully by a photographer who Cooper had coordinated with. However, that was not all he had in store for the day. We then made our way to Old Town where Cooper had our families, and two very special out of town guests, waiting to celebrate with us! When everything was said and done I was glad to see Cooper finally relax - if only I had known a one word answer would relieve the stress!
