Travel tips/Reminders
Just some friendly recommendations upon traveling great distances to a different country. Do not forget: -Apply for a e-visa. Indian Consulate website included with link down below. -Passport up to date/not expired -Highly recommended to get to India a few days prior I.E. the 25th or 26th, to recover from jetlag and adjust to a new environment. -Indian resorts/hotels/transportation is very easy to get on the fly, so even if you do not have an exact place to stay before and after the wedding just book the flight. There are dozens of good places to stay weather or not you want to stay a few nights in New Delhi or Chandigarh/Haryana -Inform your cell provider about the upcoming travel and they may be able to provide International calling services -Inform your bank about the upcoming international transactions -upon arrival you are able to exchange Dollar for Rupee at the airport. There are also atm machines throughout the city but they are not always at convenient times. Transportation: New Delhi is not walking friendly so there are a few options when you land: -Uber app and the Indian ride sharing app Savaaree are available -Contact me or Suprita and we will arrange a time for a driver to pick you up to take you to the hotel -Lastly, good old fashioned way of hailing a cab. Sometimes they don't speak English so just have a photo or google map location of where you need to go prior to leaving. They may want to negotiate rates and payment beforehand. -If your flight arrives days prior and you want to head straight to Haryana, then the Redwood Resorts will most likely be able to set you up with a room. Just call in advance. There is also another resort just West named the Golden Tulip. If you arrive and want to spend time in New Delhi then there plenty of hotel options such as -JW Marriott Hotel (located next to airport) - The Hyatt -Radisson -Hilton -The Grand -Ramada by Wyndham We cannot wait to see you all!
