Our Ceremony

Over the last year of dreaming about what our wedding day would look like much has changed in the world. Our family and friends are such an important piece in our lives and relationship, and we are so fortunate to have a big community of people rallying around us through our adventures in life. Our hope had been to bring all those people together for this special occasion, but the health and safety of that community is of upmost importance. This is but one day in our lives, and we foresee many more joyous celebrations in the future. For now, we are touched by the love of our community sent from afar and hope to hug, dance, and celebrate all together soon! On October 3rd we marry on the wild Pacific Ocean beach of Grayland, Washington in an intimate ceremony. Our first camping trip together was on the coast - followed by many more trips over the last five years. It’s one of our favorite places and the perfect setting for exchanging our vows.

Our Story

We first met ten years ago while attending college at Western Washington University. Sometimes you meet someone and just feel an immediate connection and comfort with one another. This was the case for us, and even though the timing wasn’t right in college our paths eventually intertwined again five years ago. Cory invited Susie to go to a Black Keys concert in November of 2014 — this might seem like a bold first date, but music has always been a part of our relationship. It’s safe to say that the concert and date went well, and Susie even got to meet Cory’s mom and step dad that night —no pressure for a first date! At the end of October 2015 our lives were forever changed again when we adopted Pancake our corgi dog. We are without a doubt those annoying people who fuss over their dog like a child. He has joined us on many traveling adventures and enjoys our daily walks through the city of Seattle where we all live — for now. With the help and support of family and friends Cory and Susie have recently started developing property on Harstine Island in the south Puget Sound of Washington. You may notice that much of our registry is devoted to the creation of our future home — a yurt! We are moving forward with our dreams of living in the woods in a cozy yurt, and eventually building a more permanent house.
