As two single people might do, they had dating accounts on Bumble. Cory swiped right first, and while Monicka thought his pictures were attractive, there was little content on his profile. Hmmmm…. She hemmed and hawed, and took some time to decide if she would match with him. After all, his smile was captivating…so after a lengthy internal dialogue about what to do (characteristic of her ability to overthink), she decided to swipe right too. After doing some chatting online they determined that they had some common interests (a love of food, a good work ethic, and both introverts), so they decided to schedule a date. It was November 2020 and the pandemic was in full swing. Regardless, they braved the risk and ate outside in the cold next to a heater that was not warm enough. To say that the date was a success is an understatement!

Their story is pretty simple. Pandemic -> Bumble -> Swipe Right -> First Date -> History But really, it's been over two years since their first date and they have a beautiful baby boy to show for it. Because they started dating during the pandemic, they became exclusive pretty quickly (they called it 'responsible dating'). Monicka and Cory are both California natives. They have very different upbringings, which seems to make them a perfect pair. Cory grew up in Healdsburg, CA as an only child, while Monicka is one of seven girls, growing up she has seen much of Northern California , moving from here to there (her parents grew up in Santa Clara, and she has lived as north as Yuba City). They both graduated from state colleges, could drink coffee all day if it was a healthy option, and love eating. They are excited to continue this journey of love and to celebrate with you all. #thisislove
