Initially, Cory and I met back in 2009 right after I graduated PA school. We were working in the same ER and connected over Cardinals baseball and a love of good (but random) music! Our friendship was pretty casual, but there was something about him I always kind of liked. Of course, I never told him that. Little did we know that years later we'd end up here! Fast forward 7 years. I saw Cory post on Facebook..........which he never really did. I hadn't seen or heard from him in about 6 years and replied to a silly post about him needing a new hobby. That turned into chatting back and forth online and eventually texting. Then one day he mentioned grabbing beers sometime. My naïve self figured it was just as friends so of course I said yes. We had busy work schedules so it was about 2 weeks before we could make this happen. Just a few days before we were chatting and he casually mentioned our upcoming date. Date? What did I miss? Well, needless to say this was WAY more exciting as I had always had a bit of a crush on Cory. As for beers on our first date....we had some....or several. And one day of catching up turned into one giant hangover and the start of what has turned out to be our love story. And for what it's worth, I couldn't be happier! Exactly 10 months from our first date, and on Cory's 33rd birthday, he asked me to be his wife!!! He tried to throw me off by offering me a Bass Pro fishing reel box. I was pumped! I had been begging him to take me fishing and figured he had purchased me my own reel to take on our fishing adventure. Boy was I wrong! I was shocked but so happy. He finally got to surprise me, something I tend to ruin for him. And now we're getting to share our lives together and with all of you.
