Christine and Mike both love video games. At one time, they dedicated their time to an online game called Final Fantasy XI. A fan festival convention was planned for the video game. Both excited to attend. Michael went to meet with friends in the game. Christine did not know anyone going, but went on a whim for the love of the game. Christine and Mike locked eyes during the registration night. Unfortunately, Mike did not like Christine's polka dot shoes and Christine thought he was with a girlfriend at the time. They went along their business. However, Mike was curious, because he saw they were in the same game server, but never met Christine's character in the game. Throughout the fan festival event, Mike and Christine learned more about each other. They found out that they lived only about 40 minutes from each other, had common interests, and grew up in the same area for years. Mike and Christine quickly connected, and that's when their life adventures began...

On April 7th, 2016, it was Christine's big 3-0 birthday. Christine had to work, but Mike still took her out for a special dinner. Mike knew Christine loved seafood despite his distaste for it. He took her to The Fishermans Restaurant right on the San Clemente pier. The view was stunning as the sun set during dinner, and the food was amazing! After dinner, they walked down the pier, talking about life. Christine is completely oblivious and thought Mike was just preparing her for her 30s. After watching an old man fish down the pier, they walked back to the beach. They sat at a bench talking into the late hours of the night, watching the ocean waves, people and the trains pass by. Finally, Mike gathered his courage, went down on one knee, and proposed to Christine with a ring. Christine was surprised and cried! The ring shone so brightly under the ring box's own spotlight and against the dark setting around them. And of course, Christine said yes!
