It all started at a church small group night I was hosting at my place. I was expecting new members to come so I was more than inviting. Jeremy walked up to the door and when I opened it he asked " is this where small group is"? I stated yes with assurance and he came in. After some months of hello and goodbye we began chatting about how mentoring was a passion of both ours. Our small group decided to attend a Poets in Autumn show together. Long story short everyone bailed on the show but Jeremy and I! Even longer story is I overslept! I sent a text to Jeremy and he replied with one if his usuals "it's cool". Later that evening I got another text from Jeremy asking me if I planned to go to Sunday service in the morning. I replied "of course, but why do you ask"! He said to me "well since you missed the show I bought you the DVD of it, and I wanted to give it to you tomorrow at church". From that moment I knew something special was about to begin.
After months of planning, trying to think of the perfect proposal. I came up with the idea of proposing at Atlanta Botanical Gardens. That day we already had plans to go to the Universoul circus. During one of the circus acts at the show there was a proposal scene to the Bruno Mars song "Marry You"! Once that happened I began to get nervous because I knew what lied ahead later in the day. Once the show was over Corin thought we were only going out to eat, little did she know HER WHOLE LIFE WAS ABOUT TO CHANGE! Once we got to Botanical Gardens all our family and friends were there waiting to surprise her. As we walked around the grass and floral areas trying to admire the "exotic flowers" that look like the same flowers I see outside my house. We made our way to the private garden entrance where I planned the big reveal. We walked a little too far down and I saw some of the family out the corner of my eye. Had to do a smooth 360 turn in the other direction so the whole thing wasn't blown. We walked to a pond in the secluded garden and I told her to flip a coin into the pond. I said to her " you know they say if it lands on heads you'll have good luck. As she leaned in to see whether it was heads or tails (it was heads by the way) I got down on one knee bending my crisp front olive green Jordans 1's, and popped the question. Will you marry me? If you are reading this then you know what she said.
