After meeting in the 8th grade, we decided to go on a first date to the movies. We saw Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Unfortunately, the only seats available were in the front row. We bonded over our strained necks and eyes and ended the night playing arcade games.
A lot of our time together was spent in the Prosper High School band. Throughout all four years of high school, we attended marching band competitions, football games, and concerts. We practiced solo music and would sometimes find fun duets to play together.
We both graduated high school in 2021. Chris decided to join the US Navy, while I attended the University of North Texas. We did long distance for nearly three years, always making an effort to see each other every few months. While the goodbyes never got easier, we were able to grow as individuals. Enduring the distance allowed us to develop an even stronger relationship. In June of 2024, I was able to make the move to Virginia, where Chris is now stationed. The overwhelming support of our family helped us get to where we are today and we could not be happier to begin this new chapter of our lives.
