Question

Where is the wedding venue?

Answer

We are getting married at a small urban venue in the heart of Portland: Opal 28. The address is: 510 NE 28th Ave, Portland, OR 97232 Look for the Opal 28 sign, and the welcome sign on 28th Ave for the correct door.

Question

Ceremony vs. Reception

Answer

We are hosting a very small ceremony that is mostly family-only. For most guests, arrival time will be 7:00 pm for a cocktail hour followed by dancing. We ask reception-only guests to arrive between 7:00-7:30 pm so you don't miss our first dance! For those attending the entire ceremony and dinner, please arrive at the venue no later than 2:45 pm. The ceremony will begin at 3:00 pm sharp. Your RSVP on the website should indicate if you are RSVPing to the ceremony, or just for the reception portion. Formal invitations will be sent to all guests 2 months ahead of the wedding. For dinner guests, food options and dietary restriction options will be included in your RSVP form.

Question

What does cocktail attire mean?

Answer

Cocktail attire means dresses can be any length and any material. Ties are optional, and so are suit jackets. We ask that guests do not wear sneakers or T-shirts. We encourage guests to wear colorful outfits that will match our colorful florals, but this is in no way a requirement.

Question

What's the weather like in Portland, OR in April?

Answer

Portland weather in April is unpredictable, but rain is likely! The entire wedding will be indoors, but we suggest bringing a jacket, and an umbrella for your commute.

Question

Smoking

Answer

Our venue does have a partially covered outdoor area, however this entire outdoor area and the venue are smoke-free! There will however be a designated smoking area just outside the door.

Question

Photos and videos

Answer

We have an amazing professional photographer who will be with us until 8:30! However, if you’re interested in taking your own photos and videos, go for it! We only ask that you make sure your cells are silenced so they don’t go off during any important moments.

Question

Plus-Ones and Children

Answer

Because of the small nature of our wedding, your RSVP and invitation will indicate if you have a plus one or include your children’s names in the invitation and RSVP. If your invitation doesn’t clearly indicate a plus one or any children, we unfortunately cannot accommodate any additional guests.

Question

Will Katie Thompson be allowed on the aux?

Answer

No

For all the days along the way
