Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Copeland Smith and Lucia Rodriguez
We are excited to share some of our favorite Chicago spots with you.

Katherine Anne Confections

2745 West Armitage Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647

This is where we went on our first date! Their drinking chocolate is decadent and their truffles are to die for.

Pan Artesanal Bakery

3724 West Fullerton Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647

We love this spot right around the corner from where we live. They are open Saturdays and Sundays only, from 8 AM till when their incredible baked goods and food run out, which they always do! If you can swing it, we highly suggest you give it a try!

Lula Cafe

2537 North Kedzie Boulevard, Chicago, IL 60647

Hand's down some of the best food in the whole city. A killer brunch, farm to table vibes and an ever changing menu.

Logan Square Farmers Market

3025-3113 West Logan Boulevard, Chicago, IL 60647

You can find us here every week as we pick up our groceries, coffee and treats. It is the place to see and be seen in our beloved neighborhood. The market itself it on Sundays 10-3, but you can head to this spot with a picnic any day of the week as it is located on Logan Blvd, a stellar spot to lounge.

Spinning J Bakery and Soda Fountain

1000 North California Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622

The cutest date spot and where our party pies are coming from!

National Museum of Mexican Art

1852 West 19th Street, Chicago, IL 60608

This is one of Copeland's favorite museums, and it's free!

City Lit Books

2523 North Kedzie Boulevard, Chicago, IL 60647

No weekend is complete for us without a stop at our neighborhood booksellers. Copeland always has to be torn away from their kids books.

Humboldt (Alexander Von) Park

400 N Humboldt Dr, Chicago, IL 60622, Chicago, IL

This gorgeous park is hopping on the weekends with families and music. It is the namesake park for the neighborhood Lucia has worked in since she got to Chicago. It is also the neighborhood Copeland lived in, in college. We recommend a walk through the prairie or a picnic on the grass followed by a paddle boat ride.

Humboldt House

1045 North California Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622

A favorite queer owned gift shop of ours, chances are you may have received a gift from here or their sister store Peach Fuzz down the street. We shop here often.

Mi Tocaya Antojería

2800 West Logan Boulevard, Chicago, IL 60647

This is one of our all time favorite restaurants in the city, and it is on the same block where we first lived together! Plan to take it to go unless you book a table in advance!

Pequod's Pizza

2207 North Clybourn Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614

We believe this is the only worthwhile deep dish in Chicago. It's Copeland's favorite and the ONLY deep dish Lucia will eat. Heads-up wait times are long (cause it's good duh). We recommend either planning a long visit or getting it to go.

Dorothy

2500 West Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622

A lesbian speakeasy type bar with comfy couches and strong drinks, we love to get a nightcap here after a delicious dinner upstairs at Split-Rail.

The Whistler

2421 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647

We love the drinks and patio here, so much so that we ended the night here after Katherine Anne's on our first date.
