As some may know, Cooper and I met using the online dating app Hinge. As some may not know Hinge’s slogan is “the dating app designed to be deleted.” Which, sure—we were willing to buy into. Both of us were at a place where we were looking for something serious and this led to the miraculous moment where we matched (cue confetti). I sent a message and Cooper replied with an inquiry into one of my photos (a Wrigley Field picture). Soon enough we had scheduled our first date at Cherrywood, a local Austin coffee house. First dates can bring up a variety of emotions. As I parked my car, I took a moment to take a nervous deep breath. As I did, I happened to look in the rearview mirror to see a dark-haired, denim jacket-wearing guy bounce by (Cooper has very flat feet) and couldn’t help but chuckle and think “well, here we go.” (Cooper: Can confirm that my feet are 100% flat.) In case you were wondering, I didn’t have a reason to be nervous as the date was *chef-kiss* perfect. We talked for hours and he saved me from a two-stepping engagement (thank goodness) by asking if I’d like to extend the date and get dinner. Thankfully, I've never had to wonder what I missed at the two-stepping hall that night, as our coffee date turned into the first eight hours of talking to my best friend. Our relationship has seen a pandemic, job changes, a cross-country move, our first home purchase, and a whole lot of bags games (ask Cooper if you'd like more information). It’s been quite the adventure, and we are looking forward to the opportunity to figure out the "what's nexts" together.
