Sam and Maddie grew up 7 minutes away from each other in the Schwenksville/Collegeville area. Both attended Perkiomen Valley School District and even overlapped in high school for 3 years. Their moms, Joanne and Lisa, were co-workers and (still are) good friends for several years. Their grandmothers had gone on civic club bus trips together. Maddie lived a few houses down from Sam’s relatives. Although you would assume that their paths crossed at some point among the many connections that were previously there, they did not meet until 2022 several years after graduating college. Maddie came across Sam’s profile on a dating app and reached out after recognizing his name. After their first date at the Railroad Street Bar & Grill, it was clear that they shared something very special. The rest is history…
Sam and Maddie went to Everhart Park during one of Sam’s first trips to West Chester. After that, it had always been a special place to the couple. On Saturday December 10th, 2022, Sam and Maddie returned to Everhart Park for an afternoon stroll. They made their way to the pavilion in the middle of the park and stopped to look at a small stream. Sam got down on one knee and proposed to a shocked, emotional Maddie who did not hesitate to say YES! Afterward, Sam and Maddie drove to Schwenksville to celebrate the engagement with their family members over pizza, cake and champagne.
