Question

What are the passport/visa requirements?

Answer

At this time, there is no need for a visa or covid test to enter the United Kingdom from the United States. However, your passport does need to be valid for 6 MONTHS AFTER the date you arrive in the United Kingdom. So if your passport expires BEFORE April 15, 2024, you HAVE TO RENEW IT! They will not let you on the plane if you do not have more than 6 months of validity left on your passport. If you do need to get or renew your passport, keep in mind that processing times are currently 2-3 months at the US passport office. You can find all the information you need to apply for a passport at: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/need-passport.html You can find all the information you need to renew your passport at: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport.html

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by August 1st for the wedding. Invitations have been mailed out on July 13th, please notify us if you do not receive yours in the mail. We understand that Scotland is a far journey and may not be something that everyone is able to do. If you are able to make it, please send us your flight and hotel information once booked (via the Have you Booked Your Flight event) so that we can coordinate events and transportation!

Question

What is the attire for the Wedding?

Answer

Formal attire. For men, formal attire is considered suits or a tuxedo if they desire. For women, formal attire is a longer dress or gown. Traditionally in the UK, women wear a Fascinator or hat to weddings (channel your inner Kate Middleton!)(but completely optional). The weather will be cold, about 40-50 Fahrenheit at night, so you may want a coat or wrap. The wedding is indoors, but the cocktail hour will spill over into the courtyard outside if the weather permits.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes, we will be having events all week from Monday the 9th until Friday the 13th of October. Everyone will be welcome at all events if you wish to join! A tentative schedule is posted for now under the Schedule tab. This will be updated when we have more details and then we will ask for RSVPs.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

While your presence is the only gift we need, we have registered for those that wish to send a gift. Our registry can be found on the Registry tab at the top of the page.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Yes, everyone is allowed a plus one, just please be sure to let us know when you RSVP!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, children are welcome if you would like to bring them!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please reach out to the bride with any special requests.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of parking at the wedding venue if you wish to drive. Please do not drink and drive, there is zero tolerance for alcohol and driving in Scotland, meaning the blood alcohol limit is 0.00. There are plenty of taxis and ubers around Glasgow, and all hotels are happy to call a taxi for you!
