Conor: Believe it or not, the first time I saw Amy was in the middle of December in Buffalo, NY; and she wasn't wearing a coat. That's because I finally met Amy during a Santa Bar Crawl and the bar was crowded! She originally caught my eye online (I know, how millennial), but we quickly found out we had a lot in common! We both had tickets to the Santa Bar Crawl and decided to meet up there. We instantly clicked and had a great time together. Over the next week, I think we went out to dinner 2 or 3 times (she suffered through many Sabres games on TV). Fast forward, we have moved from Buffalo, then to Erie PA, then to Cleveland, and now back to Syracuse, where I am completing my residency training. She has supported me throughout all the moves, late nights, and long shifts, and I am so lucky that I get to marry such an amazing person. Amy: When Conor and I first met, I don’t think either of us were expecting it to turn into forever. If you asked us back in December 2015 what the future held, we probably didn’t have a confident answer. What started as what we thought was not the right time to find someone rapidly turned into the perfect time. I quickly learned that Conor was someone special. He is kind, extremely intelligent, funny, and honest, (I could go on for a while here) and I think we saw each other almost every day for 3 months. My uncertainty about the future soon turned into hope. I hoped I could be the person that Conor saw as a perfect fit for him because I knew he was the perfect person for me. Looking back, I can’t imagine it happening another way. Conor has been my rock throughout my Dietetic Internship, Master’s program, finding my first job, and growth as a healthcare professional over the past 7 years. He has made our relationship a priority throughout Medical School and Residency which is almost impossible to do and Conor makes it look easy. As cliché as this phrase is, it’s the truth: I am so lucky to be marrying my best friend. I can’t wait for what the future holds for us as a couple and I know we are both looking forward to laughing together for the rest of our lives.
