Despite growing up less than 10 miles apart in South Jersey, it took moving halfway across the country for our paths to finally cross. Looking back on the day we met, there’s so many things that may have prevented us from meeting, but one way or another, fate put us together on a bleacher in Section O of Camp Randall Stadium one September afternoon. Our first conversations were fairly innocent, where we were from, what we were studying, our mutual connections, and of course whether the other was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. Whether we knew it the time or not, we were compatible and by answering “No” to the last question, Connor was clearly sold. Within a week we were dating, within a month we knew it could be serious, and within a year our lives, goals, and future were fully intertwined with one another. In the years to follow we’ve traveled the world, added a few pets to our family, and built a life together in Chicago. Getting engaged less than a week before lockdown has only brought us closer (emotionally, or at least on the bad days physically). It’s taught us the meaning of trust, patience, and above all, to appreciate and celebrate moments with those we love. We’re hopeful that the world allows us to celebrate our special day the way we hope, and to live in the moment with each of you this September.
